Ethics & Self-Disclosure: What’s Ok, What’s Not OK & How Do You Decide

April 25, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 1:15 pm EDT
$85

Self Disclosure can pose prominent challenges for anyone working in the mental health & substance use fields – working with teens, adults, families or “running” groups

For many practitioners the art, science, and ethics of sharing about oneself is often not a dichotomous process. Let’s unpack and explore together the layers of our ongoing practices of ethical healing work & how we each may come to decide if/when to share about us.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize & describe the five types of counselor & psychotherapist self-disclosure
  • Examine ethical guidelines from different licensing bodies and state certification boards regarding Self-Disclosure, Self-Care, and client well-being amidst the evolving landscape of mental health in 2024
  • Illustrate three distinct experiential scenarios of self-disclosure in a therapeutic setting, highlighting the benefits, risks, and potential harms.
Early registration $70. And $85 after April 15.
