Navigating Societal Gender Roles: Trauma-Informed Responses for Healing

Christy Plaice will be presenting at the 8th Annual ADACBGA Conference: Embracing & Enhancing Clinical Competencies. This dynamic training is for those who desire education in relation to self and clients – where our biases, hurts, understandings and misunderstandings, have a place to land. Participants will leave with increased self-discovery and insight in trauma-informed response for healing and wellness around gender ‘roles’.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Gain an understanding of how a male responsive trauma-informed care system differs from traditional trauma-informed care systems that were traditionally developed for women
• Differentiate various traumas: verbal and non-verbal responses in regards to gender identity
• Cultivate a deeper sense of awareness of one’s own personal biases, judgments, shame, & empowerment around gender
