In a collaborative effort to inform and create understanding for mental
health providers workingwith LGBTQI clients, this training brings clinicians,
direct care staff, and providers together to learnthe range of best practices.
Participants will learn terms and concepts surrounding gender &sexuality, to
communicate with compassion & respect, and impact of addiction & trauma.
Barriers and concerns will be addressed when working with LGBTQI
individuals – speaking onbiases, challenges, respect, & support.
Employing adaptable interventions, expanding new up-to-date terms and
exploring familyresistance are all important when improving therapeutic skills.
As a part of the workshop, participants are invited to ask questions in order to
explore what we are navigating in our offices, programs, & organizations.
